wmmba barry-roubaix beer

Somehow, West Michigan Mountain Bike Alliance has become famous for its suds distribution. We need your help to pour it on this spring!

Believe it or now, we’ve developed a little bit of a reputation for being really, really good at pouring beer. In fact, we’ve turned it into one of our favorite fundraising activities, and as word has spread, we’ve added more opportunities to help distribute liquid nourishment for those thirsty bike racers all over Northern Michigan.

If you’ve got a strong background in transferring beer from one container into another, we’re willing to show you the secrets to the perfect pour if you can help us at one or both of our upcoming events. First up, we’re putting our skills on display at the famous Barry-Roubaix in Hastings, Michigan on Saturday, April 21. We have a lot of roles to fill, including everything from a security detail (gotta keep those youths out) to selling tickets. We have time two slots, 11:30-2:30 and 2:30-5:30, and plenty of spots available if you’re able to help. You can contact Kevin at to get involved!

There’s another chance to jump into action just two weeks later at the 29th Annual Yankee Springs Time Trial on April 28. Yankee is a massive event for WMMBA, and putting the race on pushes our board and volunteer manpower to the max. We need a total of nine volunteers to fill shifts from noon-3pm and from 3-6pm. Even if you’re racing, you can still rinse off and get behind the bar to help out! Show the world your skills and send an email to to lend a pouring hand.

Looking for more opportunities to help out? Make sure you check out our calendar for upcoming trail days and other events, watch the Facebook page, and make sure you become an Ally to help WMMBA offer the best trail experience in Michigan!
