GR Bike Park Grand Rapids

We’ve got a big mission to kick off May, Allies! Help us raise money for the Grand Rapids Bike Park, and let’s create a space with more room for more people to play.

One part of our vision in West Michigan is to offer trails that suit the interest and needs of all sorts of cyclists. From the experienced and skilled to the young family with little tykes on trikes, we want to help facilitate safe, fun, non-motorized experiences that encourage healthy, active lifestyles all over our region. Since 2013, the Grand Rapids Bike Park as slowly evolved from some disused sports fields into a treasured resource in the community. We want to help City of Grand Rapids Parks and Rec and the Friends of Grand Rapids Parks to continue this vision into a new phase, with new offerings and even more fun.

For summer 2018, we’re hoping to bring in a youth pump track, an advanced pump track, a bicycle skills course, and some basic amenities to facilitate hiking, bird watching, running and walking to the back side of the current park layout. We believe these additions offer a more well-rounded experience to users of the Grand Rapids Bike Park, and that further developments will be fueled by the interest and energy created by these new introductions.

We are in a unique and exciting position to make this happen fast. The Michigan Economic Development Corporation, better known as Pure Michigan, is offering to match up to $50,000, so every dollar we raise up to that amount is essential two dollars! This sum will go a long ways toward completing our vision of a completed bike park that is shaped by our users’ needs and wants!

You can help. Make your donation right here, and consider sharing this post with a riding buddy, a friend, or anyone you think has an interest in bringing more great things to our grand city.
