Best of Luck at Iceman Cometh Challenge!

West Michigan is heading north in droves this weekend for the 29th Annual Iceman Cometh Challenge!

It’s a sign of the season more trustworthy than the weather, the calendar, or the riding conditions. If the season truly starts each spring with the massive, fun, and unforgettable Barry-Roubaix, then it ends with the Iceman Cometh Challenge in Traverse City. We’re lucky to have this world-class event just a few hours’ drive north, a trip we can make in a day, or easily turn into a long weekend with friends, family, and teammates that feel a bit like both.

We have dozens of sponsors, bike shops, and hundreds of WMMBA Allies that partake in the race each year, and we admit that when we scan the results sheet on Sunday, we always take a little pride in having so many fast riders from our neck of the woods have great performances on the biggest stage available to us. Even if you’re not planning on threatening a top ten Saturday, you’re representing our region and our community, and for that, we thank you!

Even if you’re not toeing the line in Kalkaska, you can help show your pride for our family of mountain bikers by taking renewing your WMMBA commitment. This fall, we’ve found dozens of expired memberships, and as a part of our fall drive, we’re asking you to find five minutes to get signed up to support our trails for another year. We can’t do it alone; it takes a committed group of individuals, families, businesses, and organizations to bring you perfect riding conditions over a big region with a lot of riders, a lot of weather, and a lot of other factors to contend with.

Let’s show ’em we’re a family Saturday on the race course, and let’s show ’em just how much we value our own trails by getting back onboard as an Ally.
