Yankee Springs Time Trial

Just a friendly reminder that registration for the 28th Annual Yankee Springs Time Trial – Presented by Spectrum Health Pennock – is January 1st, 2017, @ 10:00 a.m.!!

Racers starting position is based on the date & time that you sign up….the earlier you sign up, the sooner you start within your race category.


RACE DATE: April 23rd, 2017.

The Yankee Springs Time Trial annually serves as the opening round of the Championship Points Series (CPS). For information on the CPS series, including how to earn points, class structure, and the series schedule, please visit their page on the MMBA Website:

NEW for 2017:

– The CPS Series has added an Elite/Expert Open Fatbike Category, to go along with the Sport/Beginner Open Fatbike Category! As with all E/E categories, they will race for 2 laps at the Yankee Springs Time Trial.

– The Yankee Springs race will also feature a Women’s only Fatbike Category! This will be an Open age group, run with the Sport class division. The Womens group will be scored for awards separately for the Yankee Springs TT race, but their points will be counted towards the CPS Series, as the CPS Series has agreed to score them within the Sport/Beginner Open Fatbike Category (based on their finishing time). THANK YOU CPS!

Fall in West MI

Just a reminder, there are some great events coming up here in the West Michigan area, that you don’t want to miss!
Skirts in the Dirt is Sunday, August 28 at Cannonsburg Ski Area. While this is a women’s MTB race guys, be sure to jump in the “drag-race”. And don’t forget your skirt!

Trifecta – Is Sunday, September 11, at Townsend Park
This is always a great ride! We’ll be firing up the grills afterwards with some burgers and brats, included in admission. Feel free to bring a dish to pass as well. Founders Brewing will donating some of that, you know, wonderful beverages they make.
There will be plenty of room for team areas to set up so, bring the gang!
All proceeds go to help build and maintain the trails we love here in West MI!

MiSCA Dirt Dawg – Kids MTB race, September 18th at Cannonsburg Ski area
Based out of the east side of the state (just north of Detroit)The Michigan Scholastic Cycling Association works to establish and maintain safe, quality scholastic cycling programs. They will be bringing their race series to West MI. This race is open to all kids.

IMBA’s Take A Kid Mountain Biking Day, October 1st at Cannonsburg Ski area
This will be a day to get our next generation of cyclists out in the trails. Hosted by the Grand Rapids Dirt Dawgs

Women only bike race!

Save the date for Michigan’s only mountain bike race open only to women!!

Join us on August 28, 2016 at Cannonsburg Ski Hill for the Skirts in the Dirt race and expo!

Please note that registration closes at 5PM on August 26 and there will be no day-of registration.

RACE does not have to be a four letter word.  This is a race with categories for women of all athletic abilities with fun challenges along the way to keep things interesting (Surprise!).  Come and find out how fun racing can be!

Registration through June 1 is $30.  Beginning August 1, registration increases to $35, and beginning August 15, the price will increase to $40.  Please note that registration closes at 5PM on August 26 and there will be no day-of registration.

Squirts in the Dirt — Kids Under 12 race for free — Bring the whole family!. Race begins at 2:30 p.m. 1-2 miles.

Never Ever! –For those ladies who said they’d never race. Never say never!!! You’ve been out riding and love being on the trail, but are still starting out. Let’s keep this fun! 3-4 Mile beginner course, Race begins at 1 p.m.

Weekend Warrior -- You love to ride and maybe even race from time to time. You have probably 
passed a guy in an Iceman Jersey and politely waved as you pedaled by. 6-8 Miles, race 
begins at 11:30 a.m.

All the Single Ladies — Deraileurs?!  Who needs them?!  Granny gear is just not in these ladies’ vocabulary.  If you love the simple beauty of a single cog and a straight chain line, this category is for you :).  6-8 Miles, race begins shortly after 10 a.m.

Double Diva (Tandems only) — Two divas on one bike?! We just don’t know if we can handle this awesomeness! We salute those ladies brave enough to cede complete control of steering to a friend 🙂 Go tandems! 6-8 miles Plus challenges, race begins shortly after 10:00 am.

Fabulously Fat (Fat bikes only) -- For those riders who are always prepared for the weather Michigan can 
throw at them.   Why loose the fat in August?  Don't put that bike on a diet!  Bikini season is almost over!  
6-8 Miles, race begins shortly after 10 a.m..
Dirt Diva -- Chain lube is in your blood.  Quite a few people have no idea what you look like 
without a bike helmet and dirt on your cheeks -- but you look like a total diva when covered 
with dirt. 12-16 Miles, race begins at 10 a.m.

*The course has rolling to hilly terrain.  

Note: The race will take place rain or shine.  If severe weather occurs (thunderstorms/lightening) the race will be delayed until the conditions improve or the race is cancelled.  Registration is non-refundable.
