It feels like last year since we’ve gotten together. By now, you’ve probably washed and folded your ugly sweater away for the season and are making the most of what winter weather we have to enjoy the trails. With it being a relatively unreliable season, Allies might already be casting a cautiously hopeful eye towards spring. Well, here’s the next thing to look forward to in the world of bikes!
Our first Alliance Meeting of 2020 is Monday, February 17. This month, we’re meeting at Third Nature Brewing Company in Rockford. It’s a big, friendly spot to meet up, grab a beer or two, and see what WMMBA has been up to. For this month’s meeting, we’re really excited to tag in a few trail directors to talk about their respective trails. Every trail has a story, and the sort of work we do to build and maintain singletrack at each one is shaped by different landowners, trail history, soil composition, and more. We’re hoping to help explain and explore a few trails and let you know what’s around the corner for these places, too.
2020 is going to be a big year for West Michigan Mountain Bike Alliance, and the best way to help us by becoming an Ally and getting involved. From racing at our biggest fundraiser of the year, the Yankee Springs Time Trial, having a Founder’s at Barry-Roubaix, or by donating some Trail Karma through Trailforks every now and again, you can power the people who give us places to pedal.
Make sure you RSVP to the February Alliance Meeting on Facebook here. Bring a friend, bring the family, and we’ll see you at 6:30 on 2/17. Until then, we’ll see you in the woods!
